Sanctuary

Christ Our High Priest in the Heavenly Sanctuary

Hebrews 8Hebrews 4
Right now, in the heavenly Most Holy Place, your High Priest stands before the mercy seat — robed in the garments of glory, bearing incense, interceding for every name written in the book of life. This is the ministry the entire earthly sanctuary was designed to reveal. A powerful visual anchor for sanctuary message sermons, Day of Atonement studies, and investigative judgment presentations — high resolution and print-ready for wall art, church bulletins, and Sabbath School displays.

Bible background: The Sanctuary

God told Moses, “Let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them,” and gave a pattern for the tabernacle in the wilderness: the courtyard with the altar of burnt offering and the laver, the Holy Place with the table of shewbread, the golden lampstand and the altar of incense, and the Most Holy Place with the ark of the covenant beneath the mercy seat.

Every piece of furniture and every service pointed to Jesus. The daily sacrifices showed the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and the yearly Day of Atonement pictured the final cleansing of sin. The book of Hebrews explains that Christ is now our High Priest, ministering in the heavenly sanctuary of which the earthly one was a copy.
