About this image

The twelve tribes rest on his chest. The blood falls from his fingertips onto the mercy seat — and between those two realities lies the entire plan of salvation. This front-facing close-up captures the High Priest in full regalia at the moment of atonement, the gold inscription "Holiness to the Lord" visible on the turban above his face. A vivid, print-ready image for sanctuary message teaching, investigative judgment presentations, and Adventist wall art that speaks before a single word is preached.

Bible background: The Sanctuary

God told Moses, “Let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them,” and gave a pattern for the tabernacle in the wilderness: the courtyard with the altar of burnt offering and the laver, the Holy Place with the table of shewbread, the golden lampstand and the altar of incense, and the Most Holy Place with the ark of the covenant beneath the mercy seat.

Every piece of furniture and every service pointed to Jesus. The daily sacrifices showed the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and the yearly Day of Atonement pictured the final cleansing of sin. The book of Hebrews explains that Christ is now our High Priest, ministering in the heavenly sanctuary of which the earthly one was a copy.
