About this image
For forty days He walked among them — eating, teaching, showing them His hands and His side — and then, on the summit of Olivet, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. This striking digital download captures the Ascension of Christ in the tradition of classical biblical oil painting: the risen Savior ascending into the glory of heaven while His disciples stand below in a mixture of awe, grief, and the first trembling awareness that everything has changed. Grounded in Acts 1:9–11 and the Adventist understanding of Christ's ongoing high-priestly ministry in the heavenly sanctuary, this image bridges the moment of His departure and the promise of His return, making it ideal for sermon visuals on the ascension, the heavenly sanctuary, or the investigative judgment. Download includes a high-resolution image file ready for presentation slides, Sabbath School backdrops, church bulletins, and ministry social media. Let this image anchor the moment that changed the course of the Great Controversy.
Bible background: The Second Coming of Jesus
Jesus promised, “I will come again, and receive you unto myself.” As He ascended, the angels told the disciples He would return “in like manner.” Scripture describes His coming as literal, visible and glorious: He comes in the clouds with power and great glory, and every eye shall see Him.
At His return the dead in Christ rise first, the living saints are caught up together with them, and God's people are gathered home. It is the blessed hope of every believer, the day when God wipes away all tears and there is no more death, sorrow or pain.
